The region of Tuscany in Italy has some of the best areas for growing wine in the world so naturally one of the world’s leading wine producers has vineyards in the area.
The Marchesi Antinori family business was started in 1385 and its headquarters are in the beautiful, historic city of Florence. Many things have changed massively during the company’s 625 years and 26 generations of making wine. One thing that remains the same is the family’s involvement – a proud father and his three daughters are now in charge.
Another company with a great tradition and history is Christie’s. Started in 1766, it is known as one of the top auction houses. It has offices in 32 countries and handles sales of high value and rare art, antiques and wine.
Its next Fine and Rare Wine Sale will be at 10am on 29th October, 2011 in New York.
