DaVinci Wines held their Storyteller Experience in Tuscany, Italy this summer. It gave four lovers of Italian food and wine a great opportunity to visit and learn about this leading wine growing area in the world.
The four people were chosen as Storytellers from the many applications received by the company and were then guests for a week in and around Vinci, near Florence.
This small town gives its name to the famous Italian Leonardo da Vinci, as he was born here.
The Storytellers met wine growers, producers and workers to learn the different steps required to make a bottle of wine. They also met chefs and saw local food being prepared in favourite Tuscany recipes.
Their hosts, DaVinci Wines is a unique wine growers’ cooperative consisting of over 200 small growers, with their vineyards mostly near to Vinci.
One of the Storytellers was Janelle Maiocco from Seattle in America. She is a mother and loves to cook and write about it in her blog. She was chosen as the Culinary Arts Storyteller by the company.
